General Information

1. What room(s) do you need help designing?

2. If expecting, when is your due date? Do you know the sex of your baby and have you decided on the name? OR, What is the child’s name, age and sex?

3. Does Mom or Dad have any favorite hobbies they would like included or showcased in the room? (i.e. Dad is a golf fanatic and Mom collects Sock Monkeys) OR, What are your child’s likes and dislikes? (i.e. favorite toys and themes).

4. Do you own or rent? If renting, what are your limitations with regard to physical alterations?

5. Does anyone in your immediate family suffer from allergies to fibers or other natural materials? (i.e. down, latex)

6. Are the parents short or tall? (This is asked to determine a comfortable furniture height)

7. What is the climate / temperature of the room? (i.e. Hot in the afternoons due to direct sunlight, etc.)

8. What is the texture of the walls in the room? (i.e. Orange peel or smooth finish)

9. Do you have carpet or hardwood floors? What color?

10. Do you currently have a ceiling fixture in the room? Are you able or open to minor electrical work?

11. How many windows are in the room?

12. How many closets are in the room? Do you have enough storage space?

13. Is there existing furniture or previously purchased items you would like to see stay in the room? (Don't forget to include pictures)

Design

14. What styles are you drawn to: Modern, Contemporary, Traditional, Transitional, Whimsical, or Eclectic? What style would you like to see reflected in your child's room?

15. Do you have a color palette in mind for the room or favorite colors? What types of patterns and prints do you prefer? (i.e. pinks, neutrals, flowers, stripes, damask)

16. Do you have any items (fabric, book, print, photograph, etc.) that you would like us to use as inspiration or incorporate into the room?

17. What are some of your favorite home decor websites or stores?

18. In order of preference, what new elements are you most excited to see come to life in the space: Fresh paint, wall decals, wallpaper, window treatments, lighting?

19. What styles and finishes of furniture do you prefer or envision: Light or dark woods? Sleigh or contemporary crib? Overstuffed glider or simple rocker?

20. Does Mom or Dad have any design pet peeves? Please don’t hold back and be specific!
